BBS Course Overview
The process of developing, evaluating, and implementing appropriate strategies to successfully introduce products into the market is known as business. Companies can be classified as either product-based or service-based. The majority of businesses are founded with the intention of making a profit. Gaining advantages requires having a solid grasp of the various facets of enterprises. The undergraduate Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) degree offers comprehensive understanding of marketing, finance, human resources, and manufacturing.
In 2070 B.S., TU launched a four-year bachelor's degree in business studies. All of the TU BBS program's operations are managed by the Faculty of Management (FOM). Students who complete this program will have the knowledge and abilities necessary to run or manage any business.
Program Structure
The BBS program at TU is broken up into four sections according to the year. In the first year, students can build a solid foundation to improve their comprehension of many business-related concepts and theories. In the second year, they will also learn about the fundamentals of business and the tools utilized by companies. In the third year, students can improve their understanding of fundamental concepts linked to a broad range of business domains and acquire the necessary skills. In their last year, students might develop their research and project skills. Concentration courses are also offered this year to assist students in specializing in a chosen field. Students enrolled in TU's BBS program must study the following list of subjects:
Objectives of Bachelor of Business Studies
- To have solid managerial, financial, analytical, networking, communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and entrepreneurial skills in order to achieve and fulfill the larger corporate objectives in the future.
- To acquire theoretical knowledge and conceptual abilities that are important to today's businesses and economic operations in order to produce goods, satisfy customers, and make money.
- gaining knowledge of new technologies and techniques that are fast developing in various fields of the profession as a result of globalization.
- To develop the ability to communicate effectively in business and to logically analyze the material as prospective managers and business venture leaders using the knowledge gained from the BBS program.
- To gain professional knowledge, self-reliance, and the capacity to establish roles in businesses that will eventually offer sustainability and additional job opportunities for others.
- To be able to combine theory with hands-on, real-time experience at different business enterprises in order to participate in case studies and obtain firsthand knowledge of real-world operations.
Specialization
There are four areas of specialization available in TU's Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) programme. Depending on their interests and desired careers, students can select one of these four areas. Three subjects from that field must be selected as their concentrate subjects during this process. Prior to admission, it is always advantageous for students to have a thorough understanding of the subjects taught in their fields of concentration. For each of the specialization fields, students can select from the following list of subjects:
Admission Requirements
TU has established uniform requirements for applicants to its BBS program. To be admitted to TU's BBS program, students must meet the following requirements:
- A minimum of 45% or a CGPA of 1.8 must be earned by prospective students who have finished plus two from the Management/Science faculty or its equivalent.
- English must have been a major in plus two or its equivalent for prospective students.
- Prospective students must have completed plus two with at least passing grades.
- Any extra standards set forth by the colleges must be met by prospective students.
Career Prospectus
After completing Tribhuvan University's BBS program, students expand their knowledge of business and related topics. Furthermore, they enhance their research, networking, and communication abilities. After graduating from TU's BBS program, students might choose to pursue an MBS/MBA or its equivalent to continue their education. BBS alumni can pursue a variety of professional occupations in the future, if not an academic one. Below is a list of some job paths that BBS graduates can pursue:
Manager: TU BBS graduates have the option to pursue a career in management. A manager's responsibilities can vary depending on the industry they have worked in. Typically, a manager must define goals, hire staff, train managers, oversee and assess ongoing work, resolve problems, and many more responsibilities depending on the department.
Government Officials: TU BBS graduates are eligible to apply for any public service position that the Public Service Commission of Nepal has open, based on their qualifications. The Public Service Commission defines their responsibilities according to department and level.
Entrepreneurs: TU BBS graduates has all the necessary abilities to launch and manage a business. They are able to create and expand a startup.
Stockbrokers: TU BBS graduates may also pursue careers in stockbroking. As stockbrokers, they are required to buy or sell stocks.
