The National Women's Commission is a constitutional body which is established by the constitution to promote and protect the rights of women. The provision related to the National Women Commission is described in Article 252 of the Constitution of Nepal.
There is a National Woman Commission in Nepal. The National Women's Commission consists of a Chairperson and four other members. The term of office of the Chairperson and members of the National Women Commission is six years from the date of appointment.

Functions of the National Women's Commission
The functions of the National Women's Commission are described in Article 253 of the constitution below.
1. To formulate policies and programs relating to the rights and interests of women
2. To monitor laws concerning the rights and interests of women under international treaties.
3. To make suggestions for effective compliance and implementation of women's right
4. To carry out study and research work on the legal provision relating to gender equality, empowerment of women
5. To file cases against any person or body on matters of violence against women.
